Causes
- Dirty evaporator or condenser
- Outdoor fan stopped

What you can safely check
- Confirm Cool and a low set temperature.
- Rinse or vacuum the filter.
- Look at the outdoor fan: is it spinning when the indoor is calling for cool?
- Feel the copper at the outdoor after 10 minutes: one pipe should get cold on a working system.
- Do not keep adding ‘gas’ via a random technician without leak thinking.
When to get a technician
Filter is clean, mode is Cool, outdoor fan is dead, or the indoor blows room-temperature air after 15 minutes.
