Most “the AC died” calls are a blocked drain, a dirty coil, a capacitor, a leak, or a board after a voltage dip — not a dead compressor. Diagnose first, then quote the part or the clean.
Choose the symptom, not a lucky gas shot
- Warm air — not cooling, then diagnosis if it is not obvious dirt.
- Drip — water leak / drain, not refrigerant as a first guess.
- Known empty circuit after a repair — gas refill by weight on R32/R410A. R22 is not normal stock.
- Electrically dead compressor after the rest is ruled out — compressor labour. The part follows the machine.
